Scammers Posing as Carabinieri Target Garda Business Owners

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda areas, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to respond

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after taking the money, disappear.
