Scammers Pretend to Be Carabinieri in Garda, Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They make calls pretending to be Carabinieri to hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in Middle and Upper Garda, proposing magazine subscriptions from the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, on various occasions, claim to be part of the finance authorities, police, fire brigade, or local municipal police.

Recognizing the scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have no relation to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the true Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
