Scammers Pretend to Be Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

Pretending to be Carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shopkeepers, craftsmen, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to military-related magazines.

These are not actual members of the military, but scammers who occasionally claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement authorities.

Therefore, remain vigilant and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

seeking money, no longer shows themselves.
