Scammers Pretend to Be Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medium and High Garda, offering subscriptions to the arms magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighting services, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

if they had money, would no longer show their face.
