Scammers Pretend to Be Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda area, offering magazine subscriptions from the force.

They are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance office, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize the scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

So, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
