Scammers Pretend to Be Carabinieri Trying to Sell Fake Magazines

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to military-related magazines.

They are not members of the military, but scammers who, each time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Comune‘s officials.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately inform the Carabinieri— just dial 112— as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after obtaining money, disappear.
