Scammers Pretending to Be Carabinieri Target Garda Businesses

They pretend to be Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the regular police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri by dialing 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by someone who,
