Scammers Pretending to Be Carabinieri Target Garda Hospitality and Retail

Pretending to be Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering magazine subscriptions belonging to the arm.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

would take money and then disappear.
