Scammers Pretending to Be Police Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, general police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately alert the genuine Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after obtaining the money, disappear without a trace.
