The School Grant – Merit Component is an initiative by the Lombardy Region that provides new contributions to deserving students, with the application period open from September 23 to October 30, 2025. This measure, with a budget of 2 million euros, supports the purchase of textbooks, technological tools, and cultural services. Students can also use the funds for enrollment in academic or training courses, both in Italy and abroad, including courses for ECDL/ICDL certifications and foreign languages.
Students residing in Lombardy who attended the third and fourth grades of secondary schools during the 2024/2025 school year with an average grade of 9 or higher, or fifth-grade students with a score of 100 with honors, are eligible to participate in the grant program. The contributions amount to 500 euros for third and fourth grades and 1,500 euros for fifth grades and those in the Vocational Education and Training System with maximum scores. It is estimated that around 2,700 students will benefit from this support, which is also useful for reimbursements related to the State Exam and enrollments in Higher Education Institutions.
