Yesterday afternoon, Sunday, June 15, a large brush fire broke out in the area on the outskirts of Cavriana, specifically between Turati and D’Acquisto streets, heading towards Guidizzolo. The flames spread rapidly due to the wind and dry vegetation, threatening nearby homes. To tackle the emergency, the Firefighters responded with teams from Castiglione delle Stiviere and Mantova, also supported by a helicopter from Bergamo that conducted water drops from the Bragone Pond.
During the firefighting operations, several local farmers actively collaborated by using water trucks and agricultural machinery to wet the surrounding land and limit the spread of the flames. After hours of intense work, the Firefighters were able to bring the situation under control.
