This rise is attributed to the growing influx of tourists, prompting the municipal administration to enhance resources dedicated to security by hiring eight temporary officers to address traffic and public order needs during the summer season.
The checks included 239 checkpoints and 2,144 vehicles inspected, with penalties for various reasons: from drivers without insurance to violations of regulations concerning individuals with disabilities. There was also an intensified focus on non-compliant accommodation facilities, actively collaborating with the Suap and the Province. The emphasis on safety resulted in over a thousand targeted evening patrols aimed at preventing crimes such as theft and drug dealing, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to ensuring a safe environment for both residents and visitors.
