Senate Debates TAV Stop in Garda Area Amid Brescia-Verona Line Concerns

The TAV station proposal in the Lake Garda area, intended as a high-speed connection on the Brescia-Verona route, has been raised again in the Italian Senate. Regional Councillor Claudia Carzeri, who authored motions approved by the Lombardy Regional Council in 2021 and 2025, called for clarity on the feasibility study submitted by Italferr and RFI to the Ministry of Infrastructure in 2018. The CIPE resolution of November 2019 had already included an informational framework for the project within the second construction phase of the line.

Despite efforts by Regional Infrastructure Minister Claudia Terzi, Carzeri reports a lack of responses from the ministry. An written parliamentary question from Senator Adriano Paroli seeks updates on the project’s progress and timeline for the TAV station’s construction, bringing the issue to the national level as authorities await a ministerial response.
