September Events in Sirmione Include Performances, Festivals, and Art Exhibitions

September still holds numerous surprises in terms of events and performances. In the meantime, tomorrow, Friday, September 1st, a show titled “Arlecchino Malato d’Amore” will take place along the Lugana lakeside, presented by Daniele Cortesi from Bergamo. The event starts at 9:15 PM (free admission).

On Saturday, September 2nd, at 9 PM, the scene shifts to the central Piazza Carducci, where the Dance School directed by Veneri will present the students’ awaited showcase. This is a traditional appointment that the talented Brescia-based teacher offers annually in the center of Sirmione.

On Sunday, September 3rd, another classical dance performance will feature students from the Associazione Culturale Professione Danza: the show begins at 9 PM. From September 5th to 18th, a solo exhibition by E. Roberti will be held at the Sala Civica in Piazza Flaminia, also located in the historic center of the town.

Music Events and Traditions

On September 6th, in Lugana, a highly anticipated rock concert will take place with the Festival Rock, a highlight for the youth, and will continue the following evening, Thursday, September 7th. Another traditional event occurs in Lugana on Friday, September 8th: the Grape Festival from September 8th to 10th. Three evenings packed with shows, entertainment, and delicious local cuisine. The harvest is expected to be prosperous this year in the Lugana lands, making a grand celebration inevitable.

The month continues with a classical guitar concert on Saturday, September 16th, at 9 PM, held at the Chiesa di S. Maria della Neve with the duo Emilio Arfarà and Marco Rivara. Attendance is free. An interesting exhibition will also take place from September 19th to 28th in the civic hall of Piazza Flaminia, featuring artists Turrini, Raineri, Rossi, and Bortoli.

Then, the Alpine Choirs Festival will perform at 9 PM on Saturday, September 23rd, at the Chiesa di S. Francesco a Colombare. Lastly, the closing evening of the “Catullo” Journalistic Award will see Italian and foreign TV stations gathering in Sirmione this year.

The jury will be presided over by Bruno Vespa, who will award the host of the most voted broadcast by the hundred grand electors (popular jury) and the international news outlet. The ceremony will take place at the Palacongressi on Saturday, September 30th.
