On the occasion of the World Drowning Prevention Day, celebrated on July 25, Sirmione has organized various initiatives to raise community awareness about the importance of water safety. At the Jamaica Beach, starting at 11:00 AM, a rescue drill will take place, coordinated by several organizations, including the Coast Guard and Civil Protection, featuring a simulation of the recovery of swimmers and a distressed watercraft. This event aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of rescue techniques and highlight that every drowning is preventable.
In the afternoon, at 3:00 PM at the Lugana Sports Center, a workshop for children will be held, organized by the Italian Red Cross, focusing on water safety. These activities are part of a national program involving Blue Flag locations, emphasizing the importance of adopting safe and responsible behaviors during water activities.
