On the occasion of the World Drowning Prevention Day, celebrated today, Friday, July 25th, Sirmione has organized several initiatives to raise community awareness about water safety. At Jamaica Beach, an important lifeguard recovery drill will be conducted by the Coast Guard and other local institutions, while at the sports center in Lugana, a workshop for children, organized by the Italian Red Cross, is scheduled. These activities aim to educate participants on drowning prevention practices and promote safe behaviors.
This initiative is part of a global campaign promoted by the WHO, with the central message that “every drowning is preventable.” Sirmione, along with other Blue Flag locations, actively participates in disseminating information and effective strategies to reduce water-related risks. The day’s events also include practical demonstrations on first aid and meetings with industry professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to water safety.
