In anticipation of the Easter holidays, a significant influx of tourists is expected in Sirmione and other Italian destinations, with around 11.3 million Italians ready to travel. The “big departures” are anticipated on Good Friday, when as many as five million people will begin their holiday period. The choice to remain in Italy is predominant, with 88% of travelers preferring to explore the beauties of the Bel Paese, while 12% will opt for foreign destinations. Interest in stays with friends and relatives remains high, but hotels are also seeing an increase in demand.

The expected revenue for this holiday season amounts to 4.9 billion euros, despite inflation prompting many to cut back on overall spending. Italians are planning vacations with an average duration of 4.7 days, primarily focusing on relaxation and outdoor activities. Travelers’ choices reflect a growing desire to rediscover domestic tourism after the challenging times related to the pandemic, indicating a positive trend for the upcoming summer season.
