The Sirmione Municipal Library will host two unmissable events dedicated to art in Paris during the Belle Époque, a historical period that profoundly shaped European culture. The meetings, led by Gabriella Biasio, will take place on Wednesday, March 5, and March 12, 2025, at 8:45 PM.

A Golden Age for Art

In the 19th century, Paris emerged as the epicenter of contemporary art and a symbol of civilization thanks to the Universal Expositions. This period, known as the Belle Époque, is characterized by economic prosperity, freedom of expression, and significant scientific discoveries. The French capital thus became an artistic laboratory where various cultural currents intertwined.

For many Italian artists, a stay in Paris represents a crucial milestone on the path to success. The City of Lights offers not only training opportunities but also an ideal stage for gaining fame in a context of luxury and elegance.

Details of the Meetings

On the occasion of the exhibition “La Belle Époque. Art in the Paris of Boldini and De Nittis,” the Municipal Library is hosting two evenings dedicated to the artistic contributions of four important painters:

  • Wednesday, March 5: “The Gaze of De Nittis, Zandomeneghi, Corcos”
  • Wednesday, March 12: “Boldini and the Eternal Feminine”

Both events provide an in-depth overview of the impact these artists had on the art of the era.

Who is Gabriella Biasio

Gabriella Biasio is an expert in the field with a long career in art education. A former Art History teacher at the Bagatta High School in Desenzano, she collaborates with various associations and public entities to promote cultural meetings that bring the public closer to art.

Admission to the events is free; however, it is advisable to reserve available seats in advance.
