Sirmione: Body of 29-Year-Old Missing Man Found in Lake Garda

The body of a 29-year-old man reported missing since Saturday after diving to help a child in difficulty was found on Thursday, July 23, in the waters of Lake Garda near Sirmione. The search, coordinated by the Coast Guard with the involvement of the Fire Brigade and specialized units, ended with the recovery of the body from a seabed depth of about 25 meters.

Search operations used divers, boats, and deep-water detection equipment. Investigators narrowed the search area by reconstructing the man’s last sightings, and the recovery concluded an effort that had continued for several days, pausing only when weather conditions worsened. Judicial police investigations will be handled by the Coast Guard under the coordination of the Brescia Prosecutor’s Office.
