Sirmione has inaugurated a new operational vehicle for Civil Protection, a Ford Custom Combi model with nine seats, on June 5 at 3:30 PM. This vehicle, equipped with official livery and necessary equipment, will be used for transporting volunteers to intervention sites and providing assistance to the population during emergency operations, such as controlled evacuations. The vehicle has been outfitted by the local Civil Protection and financed with a contribution of approximately €41,000 from the Lombardy Region and €4,500 from the Municipality of Sirmione.
During the inauguration, the President of the Basso Garda Civil Protection, Luca Trincia, emphasized the importance of the new vehicle in enhancing the operational capabilities of the organization, which consists of 125 volunteers. The Councillor for Security and Civil Protection, Massimo Padovan, highlighted the sensitivity of the Sirmione territory and the priority of strengthening emergency services. Mayor Luisa Lavelli also expressed gratitude to the volunteers for their commitment to the community, thanking the Lombardy Region for the support received. The event was also attended by regional councillors such as Romano La Russa and Barbara Mazzali.
