In **Sirmione**, a significant maintenance intervention for the **trees at Punta Grò** has been announced, involving the replacement of approximately one hundred dying poplars. An investigation conducted by the municipal technical office revealed that many of the existing trees are in precarious and irrecoverable conditions due to their advanced age or the presence of rot in the trunk. The project entails the removal of 95 trees and the instrumental assessment of another 26 specimens, with the intention of replacing them with mature plants of the same species or native varieties, such as willows, black locusts, plane trees, and oaks.
The “Technical Economic Feasibility Project” (PFTE) for 2024 has a total cost of 180,000 euros, and the work is set to commence in February 2025. The Landscape Commission will review the project to ensure that the methods of intervention respect the surrounding environment. Deputy Mayor Maurizio Ferrari emphasized the importance of this intervention for the safety and sustainability of the area’s green population, highlighting the necessity of adequately informing citizens about the reasons behind these operations.
