Sirmione has recently approved a series of resolutions concerning the tourist tax, parking fees, and sustainable mobility, as part of an initiative aimed at improving the livability of the area. The Municipal Administration, led by Luisa Lavelli, has decided to increase the tourist tax by 20% for the upcoming season, with a more significant increase for vacation rentals, rising from €1.5 to €2.8. These measures are part of a broader context that seeks to make Sirmione increasingly accessible and appealing to tourists.
In addition to the increase in the tourist tax, parking fees in the area have also been adjusted, with differentiated pricing policies designed to encourage greater turnover of parking spaces. The new regulations also provide relief for those renting homes on a long-term basis, with a dedicated fund of €50,000 set for 2025. These actions aim to ensure a balance between tourism and the daily lives of residents, thereby contributing to the creation of a more livable and sustainable Sirmione in the future.
