Sirmione is preparing for a significant transformation with the introduction of pedestrianization days in the historic center. During the summer months, specifically on Sundays in June, July, August, and September, as well as on specific dates such as April 20, 21, and 25, May 1, June 2, August 15, and November 1 and 2, the area will be accessible exclusively to pedestrians from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This initiative represents an important step towards creating a more livable environment for both residents and visitors.

Objectives of Pedestrianization

The measures implemented aim to reduce the confusion between vehicular and pedestrian traffic that currently characterizes the historic center. This intervention has been designed to address the issues related to the livability of the area on particularly crowded days and during peak hours. The regulation of the ZTL 2025 has been developed after extensive discussions with local associations—including hoteliers, merchants, and artisans—as well as with the residents of the area.

Benefits for Residents and Visitors

The implementation of the ZTL not only aims to improve the quality of life in the historic center but also offers practical advantages for those needing access to the area. Services dedicated to guests of the accommodation facilities in the center will be enhanced, ensuring easier access through optimized public transport and an increase in available parking spaces at Grifo Parking.

For more information regarding the ZTL regulations, you can consult the official website of the Municipality of Sirmione, where additional details about ordinance no. 24/2025 are available. Here, you will also find a summary diagram useful for better understanding the new provisions.
