Sirmione Reopens Viale Gennari After Upgrades and Redevelopment Works
Viale Gennari a Sirmione has reopened to the public following the completion of the first phase of redevelopment covering the avenue and Parco Maria Callas. The works included new paving, upgrades to underground utilities, improvements to pedestrian routes, safety measures for historic trees, and the construction of an accessible staircase and ramp leading to the lakeside. Preliminary archaeological surveys found no artifacts along the route.
The intervention, carried out in two lots, involves a total investment of €970,000, including €638,000 for construction. It also includes a new integrated lighting system and measures to protect the arboreal heritage. Lawn restoration and the completion of new plantings are scheduled for next autumn, with the reopening announced by the municipal administration and Mayor Luisa Lavelli.
