SirmioneGreen: new smart waste collection for the historic center
A new smart waste collection service has been introduced for businesses in the historic center of Sirmione, called SirmioGreen. The project, initiated by the municipality in collaboration with Sirmione Servizi, aims to optimize waste disposal for shops and boutiques through a digital and personalized system. Active from April to October on weekdays, the service allows business owners to schedule waste pickups via the K-TARIP app, receiving real-time notifications about the arrival of the collection vehicle to ensure orderly disposal.
The collection takes place in the afternoon, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and is organized by type: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays are dedicated to paper, while Tuesdays and Thursdays are for plastic. This initiative not only facilitates waste management but also helps improve the image of the historic center. Mayor Luisa Lavelli emphasized the importance of this service in making Sirmione more livable and sustainable, while Valentina Raimondi, Sole Administrator of Sirmione Servizi, highlighted how SirmioGreen represents an innovative model serving the community.
