Sirmione’s Municipal Pharmacy Opens New Location, Expands Health Services
The Sirmione Municipal Pharmacy has expanded its local healthcare services after relocating to a larger, easier-to-reach premises in 2025 and opening new spaces in 2026, with an expanded focus on prevention, health and personal well-being. The project was presented following the approval of the Sirmione Special Company’s (Azienda Speciale Sirmione) 2025 financial statements on July 20, with the company fully owned by the Municipality.
The move required an overall investment of about €305,000 for renovations, video surveillance, furnishings and equipment, after the previous site became difficult to access when the condominium gate was closed. During the transition, rent costs rose to around €42,000 due to the double lease. In 2025, the company reported a profit of roughly €7,000 and revenue of €1.413 million, up from €1.364 million in 2024.
The new premises support the “Pharmacy of Services” model, including ECGs, cardiac and blood-pressure Holter monitoring, telemedicine, tecar therapy, self-testing, and measurements for blood pressure and body weight. Services also include the CUP (booking system), support for digital health services, and home delivery of medicines with particular attention to vulnerable people, alongside consultations by health professionals. Personnel costs rose to about €202,000 in 2025, and staffing is now complete with four employees, helping ensure continuity; the pharmacy also participates in the Municipality’s Health Roundtables.
