Sirmione’s Top Attractions, Ports, and Scenic Public Services
Attractive landscape views, highly reputable tourist facilities, well-equipped port harbors, beach resorts, and efficient public services. In Sirmione, all of this can be found, which is why the expert commission has drawn these conclusions.
Attractions and facilities in Sirmione
Let’s start this very brief tour of the Sirmione peninsula. Among the scenic spots are the hill of San Pietro in Mavino and the Grotte di Catullo. The beach resorts are those of Galeazzi, della Brema, and Lido delle Bionde, all in excellent condition of cleanliness and efficiency.
Ports and access points to the area
Moving on to the ports: among private ones, we find Sirmione-2, one of the most modern private ports in Italy, and the private dock of the Bisoli family. The two public small harbors, Castello and Galeazzi, are also well maintained.
The Diaz lakeside promenade and the one connecting the historic center to Colombare, then continuing to Punta Grò, at the border with Peschiera, are two other highlights of the town of Catullus. Five kilometers in a row, without interruptions and without vehicles.
Public services and local initiatives
Among public services, we also remember the urban bus, established by the left-wing councilors in the 1980s, as well as noting that much of the public works that Sirmione can now boast were carried out by previous administrations.
The current administration is following that same path with other initiatives, all deserving attention. Finally, the historic center is progressively banning traditional motors to make room for electric ones—another unique example in Lombardia.
