The “Social Emergency Response” (PIS) has been inaugurated in Bardolino, a service dedicated to managing social emergencies and urgent situations. This new system, operational year-round and not directly accessible to the public, is overseen by law enforcement and social-health services. The operational center consists of five specialized social workers, ready to provide 24/7 interventions for critical situations such as domestic violence, child abandonment, and extreme poverty.
In cases of personal or family social emergencies, the competent authorities can activate the service through an emergency call. Upon receiving the report, the PIS center conducts a professional assessment to provide immediate assistance, which may include socio-emotional support and the activation of local resources. At the conclusion of the intervention, the individuals involved are referred to the appropriate social services or other necessary services to adequately address the situation.
