SP 9: landslide works completed
SP 9 Gargnano–Valvestino–Magasa has reopened after repairs to four major landslides that hit the road in September 2024. Brescia Province carried out slope-stabilisation works and restored traffic access with €1.75 million in funding provided by the Ministry under civil protection measures. The projects also included work on the roadway and the Toscolano stream area, where final paving is still pending after the ground settles.
By the end of summer, four additional contractor sites are expected to begin, focusing mainly on installing rockfall protection netting to reduce the remaining risk. Other completed interventions include a barrier against debris flows and works on the Molino di Bollone hillside, damaged by a 2021 fire, where a metal net and a rockfall barrier were installed for €733,100.
