SP25 Reopens in Esenta on May 22 After €2 Million in Safety Upgrades and Roadworks
The SP25 corridor and the Esenta roundabout reopen to traffic on May 22, 2026, after a safety-focused upgrade funded by Regione Lombardia. The project, promoted by the Province of Brescia, began on October 13, 2025 with the contractor taking over on site, and aimed to replace critical at-grade intersections and adjust the road alignment to current traffic flows, involving local authorities and the implementing firms.
The intervention, valued at €2 million, widened the carriageway to about 9 meters total with two 3.50-meter lanes and 1.00-meter shoulders, rebuilt the pavement and foundations, installed new barriers and signage, resolved sub-service interference, upgraded the hydraulic network, and added new lighting. The Esenta roundabout is the core element, with an external diameter of 45 meters and a circulation ring 8 meters wide, designed to regional and national standards. Work will continue in the coming weeks for ancillary tasks and finishing touches, with completion expected in the summer.
