SP9 Gargnano–Valvestino–Magasa Reopens to Traffic
The Sp9 Gargnano–Valvestino–Magasa has reopened without restrictions within Gargnano after the main safety works on a retaining wall along the provincial road were completed. The active construction site, which had been in place since April 20 and introduced alternating one-way traffic to limit disruption to the route and the nearby Gardesana Occidentale, has now been removed.
The project involved stabilising a structure affected by settlement, deformation and cracking, using micropiles, a reinforced concrete curb and anchoring systems. The works cost €800,000, fully funded by Regione Lombardia under extraordinary maintenance for the provincial road network. The final resurfacing layer is still pending and is scheduled for September, after utility works on the underground services (sub-services).
