Castel Goffredo: Fraud of €3,000 Discovered with Stolen SPID, 24-Year-Old Reported. The Carabinieri of the Castel Goffredo Station have uncovered a cyber fraud scheme orchestrated by a 24-year-old from San Giorgio a Cremano. The suspect is accused of illegally obtaining the SPID credentials of a peer residing in the province of Mantova and using them to access the portal of the Revenue Agency. Here, he submitted a falsified 730 income tax return with the intention of claiming a tax refund of approximately €3,000, which rightfully belonged to the victim.
The girl’s report, prompted by her concern over the missing refund, initiated the Carabinieri’s investigation. Through a meticulous reconstruction of the fraudster’s actions, they managed to block the illegal transfer of funds before it could be completed. The case is now in the hands of the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office, and the young man will face several charges, including aggravated fraud and unauthorized access to computer systems.
