A violent stabbing incident shook Piazza Garibaldi in Desenzano on the night of August 24, 2024, involving three men during a quarrel. Despite the constant presence of law enforcement in the area, two of the men, aged between 30 and 50, drew knives and injured each other. A third man, a citizen from Eastern Europe, intervened in an attempt to calm the situation.
The shouts and threats attracted the attention of passersby, who alerted the police. Officers apprehended the three men as they fled down Via Garibaldi, leaving a visible trail of blood behind them. An ambulance arrived on the scene to assist the injured; however, both refused transport to the hospital despite their serious injuries. This incident further highlights the security issues in the Capolaterra neighborhood, already known for similar occurrences.
