Stalking in Valeggio sul Mincio: arrested for violence against women

A 31-year-old man was arrested in Valeggio sul Mincio on February 5 for stalking, following nearly two years of threats and violence against his ex-partner. The Carabinieri, activating the “Codice Rosso” protocol, tracked down the man, who was already known to law enforcement. He will serve a sentence of one year and five months for stalking offenses committed between 2023 and the first half of 2024 in the municipality of Veronella. The woman’s report revealed a series of abusive behaviors, culminating in serious incidents such as threats involving a weapon. According to the investigations, the relationship was marked by obsessive jealousy and possessive behavior. When the woman decided to end the relationship, the man reacted with aggression, even displaying a gun to intimidate the victim. On one occasion, during a public gathering, he struck her with a mobile phone. Despite the threats occurring in the presence of law enforcement, the man continued to harass her. After receiving the complaint, the Carabinieri acted swiftly to arrest him and impose house arrest as ordered by the Judicial Authority. Italian Version
