In Padenghe, the municipal administration has announced the need for new structural interventions in Piazza d’Annunzio due to water infiltration and issues that have compromised the use of the attached auditorium. Inaugurated in 2019, this multifunctional space, which accommodates 150 people, has remained virtually unused, hosting only two events in six years. The planned intervention includes the removal of the roof covering, new waterproofing, and the creation of a lawn, with a total investment of approximately 160,000 euros.
Mayor Albino Zuliani emphasized that this is not the only necessary intervention, as the interior of the building also faces problems related to humidity and the sewage connection of the restrooms. The critical situation of the square had already emerged following its inauguration in 2016, with total expenses exceeding 2 million euros due to inadequate materials and design errors. Currently, a legal investigation is underway to clarify the responsibilities of the companies involved in the original project.
