Desenzano del Garda, graduation, student protest: a significant incident took place at a high school in the area, where 19-year-old Enea Zenoglio chose not to take the oral examination for his high school diploma. A student in the Human Sciences program at Bagatta High School, Zenoglio graduated with a score of 61/100 and represents the first known case in the province of Brescia following similar protests in other cities in Northern Italy. His decision is rooted in a critique of the educational system, which he views as overly bureaucratic and disconnected from the individual needs of students. According to Zenoglio, his choice was influenced by the feeling that the evaluation did not truly represent him, as well as the belief that teachers are often trapped within an educational framework that neglects the human aspect.
The situation has sparked debates at the ministerial level, with Education Minister Giuseppe Valditara expressing his opposition to the form of protest adopted by the students. In response to the dissenting demonstrations, Valditara announced that starting from the next school year, refusal to take the oral exam will automatically result in failing the year. This stance has drawn strong criticism from students, including Paolo Notarnicola from the Student Network, who accuses the government of attempting to suppress any form of dissent rather than addressing the real issues within the educational system.
