The summer of 2024 promises to be full of cultural events at the Mart in Rovereto, with a series of exhibitions exploring various aspects of contemporary Italian art. Among the protagonists are renowned names such as Luigi Serafini and Giorgio de Chirico, as well as local talents like Annamaria Gelmi and Albino Rossi.
From July 12th to October 20th, 2024, the Mart will host an anthological exhibition dedicated to Luigi Serafini, curated by Andrea Cortellessa, Denis Isaia, and Pietro Nocita. The exhibition will offer a journey through the artist’s extensive production, ranging from architecture to design, from painting to sculpture, including graphic art, photography, and digital art.
In conjunction with the centenary of the Surrealist Movement, the Mart presents “Surrealismi: From De Chirico to Gaetano Pesce,” from July 12th to October 20th, 2024. Curated by Denis Isaia, based on an idea by Vittorio Sgarbi, the exhibition brings together about 150 works by 70 Italian artists. Among them, prominent figures such as Giorgio de Chirico, Alberto Savinio, and Leonor Fini stand out.
The Galleria Civica di Trento will dedicate a space to the Trentino artist Annamaria Gelmi with the exhibition “L’instabilità del limite,” curated by Margherita de Pilati. From July 12th to October 6th, 2024, Gelmi’s works will be on display to highlight her research characterized by extreme simplicity and formal cleanliness.
Also at the Galleria Civica di Trento, from July 12th to October 6th, 2024, there will be a solo exhibition of the Trentino painter Albino Rossi, titled “Fiori del silenzio” and curated by Gabriele Lorenzoni. The exhibition will present about sixty works specifically created for the occasion, organized in groups and sequences.
Finally, Villa Lagarina will host “Acqua, luce, fuoco,” an exhibition that brings together the works of contemporary artists Ettore de Conciliis and Umberto Mastroianni. Curated by Giordano Bruno Guerri and Denis Isaia, based on an idea by Vittorio Sgarbi and Lorenzo Zichichi, the exhibition will be open to the public from June 21st to October 27th at Palazzo Libera and Parco Guerrieri Gonzaga.
