Summer 2024 in Castiglione delle Stiviere promises to be full of musical events and outdoor performances, with two main locations: the courtyard of the historic Palazzo Pastore and the greenery of Parco Desenzani. #CastiglionEstate continues its tradition with a series of events that will animate the summer evenings in July and August.
The program will kick off on Saturday, July 6th in the courtyard of the Municipal Library with “Sounds from the World at Palazzo Pastore.” The first event will be “America, in black and white, between classical, songs, swing & jazz,” followed by a series of concerts spanning various musical genres. Among the most anticipated events are “Fantasia. The most beautiful songs in Walt Disney movies” with soprano Sang Eun Kim, a blues night with Lebron Johnson, and a performance dedicated to flamenco and the Spanish poetry of Garcia Lorca.
A special moment will be on Saturday, August 3rd, with Alberto Cartuccia Cingolani, a young classical music prodigy born in 2017, who will perform “A Little Mozart.” The festival will then continue with concerts dedicated to gypsy music (“Gitani e Magiari: la musica Zigana”), Ukrainian folk songs (“Ukrainian Folk Songs”), and will conclude on August 31st with Vanessa Gravina in “Platero Y Yo.”
Parallel to the events at Palazzo Pastore, every Sunday in August, Parco Desenzani will host the fourth edition of the Festival Tribute & Cover Band. It will start on August 4th with “Sting & the Police Experience,” followed by tributes to Whitney Houston on August 11th, Madonna on August 18th, and Michael Jackson on August 25th.
Mayor Enrico Volpi expressed great satisfaction with the organization of the summer events: “It has been months of intense and rewarding work for the entire Administration that I represent.” Volpi also recalled other important moments experienced by the city, such as the time trial stage of the Giro d’Italia. “In the week when we celebrate our Patron Saint, San Luigi Gonzaga,” Volpi added, “we will be honored by the visit of the President of the Republic.”
Volpi also thanked Stefano Maffizzoni for his care in programming both the Teatro Sociale and the summer events. He invited all citizens to attend the inaugural concert on July 6th at Palazzo Pastore: “It will be an exciting season with diverse entertainment offerings.”
