The Municipality of Lonato del Garda has announced significant changes to the closing hours of the San Zeno tunnel to facilitate summer traffic along Provincial Road BS 11, which is currently undergoing modernization work. In response to the anticipated increase in tourist traffic, Mayor Roberto Tardani collaborated with the President of the Province of Brescia, Emanuele Moraschini, to request A4 Holding S.p.A. to suspend weekend closures and postpone the evening closing time from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM on weekdays.
The proposal was partially accepted; indeed, the tunnel will remain open without interruption from July 19 to July 27, from August 7 to August 17, and from August 28 to September 1. After this period, starting September 1, evening and night closures will resume from 8:00 PM to 7:00 AM until the completion of the work. Mayor Tardani expressed gratitude to the Province and the companies involved for their collaboration in ensuring adequate service for citizens and tourists passing through the Garda area during the summer.
