Castelnuovo: 35-Year-Old Arrested for Assault and Damage in Supermarket An incident of violence shook the Famila shopping center in Castelnuovo del Garda on the afternoon of Sunday, September 7, when a 35-year-old man from Ghana, already known to law enforcement, was arrested by the carabinieri after displaying aggressive behavior. Customers in the supermarket alerted the authorities due to the presence of the individual, who was clearly in an altered state and bothering those around him. Officers from the Radiomobile Unit and the Peschiera del Garda Station intervened to calm the situation, but the man reacted by physically assaulting one of the officers, who required medical attention at the Pederzoli Hospital emergency room.
During the intervention, the 35-year-old also damaged the police vehicle, kicking it. After a challenging restraint, he was taken to the Peschiera del Garda barracks, where his arrest was formalized on charges of aggravated damage, resistance, and assaulting a public official. Following the directive of the Verona Prosecutor’s Office, the man was placed under house arrest.
