Bardolino: A 20-year-old man has been arrested for theft at the Eurospin supermarket. During the night, Carabinieri from the Peschiera Company apprehended a young man residing in Malcesine after he was reported attempting to break into the self-service checkouts and steal bottles of whisky. The thief had forced open the store’s front door, causing damage estimated at around 5,000 euros.
Upon noticing the arrival of law enforcement, the young man tried to escape by hiding in a garbage bin, but he was quickly located. In addition to the stolen goods that were recovered, the young man was arrested and placed under house arrest pending trial, with the obligation to sign in at the judicial police and restrictions on evening outings. One accomplice managed to flee during the operation.
