The Lombardy Regional Council has recently launched new funding initiatives aimed at historic hotels, with the goal of promoting quality tourism and enhancing the hospitality establishments that represent the excellence of Lombard hospitality. This measure, approved at the proposal of Tourism Councillor Barbara Mazzali, allocates over 5 million euros to support investments in historic structures that have preserved their identity over time. Applications for contributions, which can cover up to 50% of eligible expenses, will be open from October 1 to December 18, 2025.
The measures are designed to assist small and medium-sized enterprises in remaining competitive in the tourism sector by improving offerings through investments in furnishings and functional services. Mazzali emphasized that these establishments are not just places to stay but are true guardians of local culture, capable of providing authentic experiences to visitors. The Region aims to make Lombardy increasingly attractive not only for significant events but also for the widespread quality of its hospitality heritage.
