Objective of sustainable mobility in the Brescia area: protocol signed among municipalities. A total of 15 municipalities, including Brescia and fourteen surrounding administrations, have signed a memorandum of understanding to promote shared policies on sustainable mobility. The initiative aims to develop projects designed to encourage more eco-friendly travel, reducing the use of private vehicles and promoting alternative transportation modes. This agreement is part of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan, approved in 2018, and includes the establishment of a dedicated Mobility Management Office to promote virtuous behaviors among users.
The protocol aims to facilitate dialogue between local administrations and companies with at least 100 employees, encouraging the adoption of the role of corporate Mobility Manager and sustainable mobility solutions for workers. With over 20% of the total mobility demand coming from neighboring municipalities, this collaboration represents a crucial step in addressing the challenges related to traffic and air pollution in the Brescia province. Thanks to this agreement, Area Mobility Management will be able to extend its functions to surrounding municipalities, thereby contributing to an integrated mobility management network.
