TARI 2026 in Desenzano: rates jump 11%

Desenzano del Garda will bring its 2026 waste bill (TARI) plan to the next municipal council with an 11% increase, the administration said. The adjustment is linked to ARERA formulas, which set binding criteria for calculating tariffs and leave municipalities limited room to change them.

The municipality said it opted to keep full urban collection and hygiene services rather than cut them to contain costs. Based on the examples provided, a four-person household in a roughly 90-square-metre apartment would pay about €1.80 more per month, while a 50-square-metre studio with one resident would see an increase of around 60 euro cents monthly. Councillor for Ecology Cristina Degasperi said the rise is not a policy choice and that the minimum possible tariff was applied to limit the impact, noting that TARI had remained unchanged the previous year until ARERA’s framework allowed otherwise.
