Tax evasion and irregular work in Desenzano del Garda: data from the Finance Police
Recently, the Guardia di Finanza has intensified inspections in Desenzano del Garda, uncovering tax evasion amounting to approximately half a million euros and identifying over 80 irregular workers in the tourism sector. The operations, which focused on hotels, restaurants, and non-hotel accommodation services, resulted in the completion of 100 inspection checks throughout the province. Specifically, in the municipalities around the lake, 13 workers were found to be employed illegally, and 10 were identified as irregular, alongside thousands of instances of unreported revenues. The inspections were not limited to Desenzano; other areas such as Moniga del Garda and Iseo also experienced similar checks. In addition to violations related to irregular employment, an illegal bed and breakfast was discovered, along with penalties for incorrect displays of the National Identification Code. These actions highlight the commitment of the Guardia di Finanza in the fight against the underground economy and in ensuring fair competition among local tourism businesses. Italian Version
