Taxi licenses in Desenzano del Garda: unfulfilled promises harm tourism
In Desenzano del Garda, the issue of taxi licenses and NCC services continues to generate controversy. Opposition councilors expressed their concerns in an interpellation sent on September 5 to the Tourism Councillor, Stefania Lorenzoni, lamenting that over two years after the initiation of the procedures, no new licenses have been granted. The political representatives emphasized that the expenses incurred for consultancy and administrative acts have proven fruitless, calling into question the effectiveness of the administration in addressing the needs of sustainable and quality tourism.
The questions raised by the councilors pertain to the status of license assignments, progress in discussions with Sirmione for an agreement, and the possibility of collaborations with neighboring municipalities. The situation is further exacerbated by the lack of essential services that undermine the city’s image as a tourist destination, while the administration seems to focus on temporary initiatives rather than on a structural enhancement of non-scheduled public transport.
