The Diecimiglia del Garda, now in its 52nd edition, saw a strong performance from Kenyan athletes during the cross-country race held in Navazzo di Gargnano. The event, organized by Gs Montegargnano and part of the national Fidal calendar, featured a remarkable victory by Simon Ekidor (Atletica Potenza Picena), who crossed the finish line with a record time of 51’48”, surpassing the defending champion Castor Mogeni (Run2gether). The competition took place over a distance of 16 km, with 60% of the course on uneven terrain, attracting around 39 athletes.
In the women’s category, Kenyan runner Mercy Jebichii lived up to expectations, winning solo with a time of 1:01:05, followed by her compatriot Aurilia Jerotich Kiptui and Verona’s Ariana Lutteri (Km Sport). This event marked a perfect day for running enthusiasts, heralding the start of the summer season in a stunning setting by the lake.
