Lake Garda is preparing to host a highly anticipated cultural event: the Tener-a-mente Festival 2024, which will see the return of the poetic-musical performance “Più Luce!” The event is scheduled for Friday, July 12th at the Vittoriale Amphitheater in Gardone Riviera.
This year, under the artistic direction of Paola Veneto, the event reaches its seventh edition and is titled “MASCHI – Pure questo è amore” (“MEN – This is also love”). After the success of the previous edition, which sold out, the anticipation for this new performance is tangible. The doors of the amphitheater will open at 8:00 PM and the show will start at 9:15 PM. Admission will be free until seats are filled.
The evening will be dedicated to the exploration of the complexities and contradictions of the male world through the words of great authors such as Louis Ferdinand Céline, Alda Merini, Elias Canetti, Sandro Penna, Franco Battiato, and many others. Actors Angelo Di Genio and Marco Rizzo will give voice to these works, accompanied by the cello of Maestro Paolo Bononini.
The verses of Giuseppe Ungaretti seem to perfectly summarize the spirit of the evening: “In the spasmodic air, involuntary, the man turns to his fragility.” The performance aims to give voice to fragile men and their inner struggles in a world often dominated by clichés and social stereotypes.
The goal of the event is to explore the contemporary male condition without falling into easy categorizations or prejudices. The difficulties men face in expressing their emotions in a society that tends to polarize opinions will be discussed. The cry for help from men will be at the center of the artistic reflection of the evening.
The main performers are Angelo Di Genio, a graduate of the Paolo Grassi School of Dramatic Art in Milan, who has received numerous awards including the Ubu Prize for Best Actor under 35. He currently collaborates with various Italian theaters and is also known for his television and film roles. Marco Rizzo, a graduate of the Academy of Filodrammatici in 2013, mainly works in the theater field collaborating with different Italian companies. He has honed his skills at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London. Paolo Bononini, winner of the first prize at the XX International J.S. Bach Competition in Leipzig, is the first cello of the Camerata Salzburg and a professor at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater und Medien Hannover. He is a versatile performer who regularly performs both as a soloist and as a chamber musician in prestigious international venues.
