The 10 Days of Photography: exhibitions, meetings, and workshops for photography enthusiasts in Brescia.

The “10 Days of Photography” is an event dedicated to photographic culture that will take place from May 10th to 19th, 2024 at the National Museum of Photography in Brescia. This second edition of the event offers ten days of cultural events, workshops, exhibitions, and book presentations, with the aim of engaging people of all ages and promoting critical reflection on photography.

The event opens on Friday, May 10th at 6:30 pm with the inauguration of the exhibitions “Prisoners of Silence” by Rosario Cassala, “Memory” by Mauro Conti, “Silvano Cinelli Witness of a Massacre,” and “The Shop Windows of the District” by Luisa Bondoni. These exhibitions offer a glimpse into social and historical issues through images that tell personal and collective stories.

Throughout the event, numerous meetings and workshops will be organized. On Saturday, May 11th at 5 pm, there will be a meeting with Francesca Volpi on documentary and reportage photography. On Sunday, May 12th from 9:30 am to 4 pm, portfolio readings will be held with four industry professionals. Also on Sunday, May 12th at 5 pm, there will be a meeting on transfigurative photography with Pierfranco Fornasieri.

On Tuesday, May 14th at 8:30 pm, the book “Un po mio” by Marzio Toniolo will be presented, followed on Wednesday, May 15th from 9 am to 12 pm by workshops on lumen print for social cooperatives with Gabriele Chiesa. Also on Wednesday, May 15th at 7:30 pm, the book “Artificial Intelligence and Photography” will be presented.

On Saturday, May 18th at 5 pm, there will be a meeting with Gabriele Chiesa on the origins of photography. On Sunday, May 19th, activities for children and teenagers will be organized, including a photographic treasure hunt and a photosafari with Fabiana Zanola. Also on Sunday, May 19th at 3 pm, there will be the workshop “Dispersed” with Samuele Maestranzi, followed at 5 pm by a meeting with the author himself.

Throughout the event, several photographic exhibitions will be displayed, including those by Rosario Cassala, Mauro Conti, Silvano Cinelli, and Luisa Bondoni. Workshops will also be organized for social cooperatives, and there will be a special space dedicated to members.

The “10 Days of Photography” offer a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in photographic culture through exhibitions, meetings, and workshops that cover different genres and themes. The event is open to everyone and is a great opportunity for photography enthusiasts and curious individuals to discover new talents and deepen their knowledge of the photographic medium.
