Recently, the church of Costa di Gargnano has been the focus of a historical research project that has shed light on the experiences of a Jewish family who survived the Shoah. This initiative, led by historian Bruno Festa in collaboration with Tullio Righettini and Remo Franzoni, culminates in the fourth part of the narrative. The story centers on Gino, a young boy who returned to Costa in 1946 to retrieve a silver ring hidden during the war, a symbol of hope and resilience. At the end of the conflict, the precious metal was returned by the local community.

In another significant episode that took place in the 1970s, Monsignor Luigi Morstabilini informally visited Colonel and his wife Oliva at their home in Mignone. Although this meeting was not official, it represents an acknowledgment of their courage during the racial persecutions. The Bishop’s visit can be interpreted as a gesture of gratitude towards those who risked their lives to save others, emphasizing the importance of historical memory related to the history of the Shoah in this area of Lake Garda.
